March 11, 2003
The meeting was called to order by President Sigrid Ivanovic at 7:00 p.m.

The minutes of the February meeting were approved as read.

Sigrid presented the estimated budget for 2003.  Currently we have six training classes scheduled.  The cost of the classes plus other, fixed expenses is estimated at $1,685.00.  Income as of February 28 was $1,176.22.  This leaves a defiicit of over $500.00.  The choices to balance the budget for 2003 are:
>To cancel training classes scheduled for September, October, and November, or
>To charge every provider $10.00 at sign-in for September, October, and
  November training classes.
Note: The ten required training class hours will have been provided before September.

The candy bar fundraiser was discussed.  Candy bars are available at $1.00 each.  All providers are urged to participate by selling at least ten bars.  Money is due NO LATER THAN APRIL 8 to our treasurer.

Sharon Ervin suggested expanding the sale to fund other Association activities beyond the Provider Appreciation Dinner.  Success of the current fundraiser will determine whether we do it again.

April is "Month of the Young Child".  Currently the Association has no activity planned.  Maria Abercrombie announced that Chattahoochee Tech will offer a Super Saturday Training on Saturday, April 26 in observance of "Month of the Young Child".  The event will be held at the Paulding campus.  The registration fee is $10.00.  Fifteen workshops will be presented between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

If the need for a board meeting arises, it will be scheduled for Tuesday, March 25 at the church, and all members will be  notified.  The next Association meeting will be Tuesday, April 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the church parking lot.  The Marietta Fire Department will have a live fire prevention demonstration.  The training will last about one hour and is non-DHR approved.

The business meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.

Maria Abercrombie presented a two hour DHR approved training session on "Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse'.

Respectfully submitted,

Tine Warrilow, Recording Secretary
