The meeting was called to order by President Sigrid

Officer Dennis Rucker of the Marietta Fire Department provided
a video and workshop on fire safety (non-DHR approved).

Mr. Richard Castellani for the National Association for the
Self-Employed (NASE) spoke on the membership benefits and health
insurance plan his company offers.

The business meeting was called to order at 8:30 p.m.  The minutes
of the September 10th meeting were read and approved.

The slate of candidates for officers and committee chairpersons
was presented. It was moved and seconded to nominate Christine
Ellsworth for treasurer.  The motion passed.  Sigrid reminded the
members that co-president, co-vice president, and co-recording
secretary are still needed because the current officers are not eligible
for re-election at the end of the 2003 term.

Plans are procedding on the Christmas party for Cobb County foster children.  We must have a list of participating families with gender and
age of their children by the November meeting in order to know how
many foster children we can invite.  Fun Science will provide small work
packs for the activity table.  Six to eight providers are needed to assist
with the party.

Providers were advised of the scheduling conflict on November 12th
between the Quality Care for Children 2003 CACFP Policies and
Procedures meeting and our next general meeting.  It was recommended
that providers attend the CACFP meeting at the Roswell Librart on
November 5th.

There is a scheduled board meeting on Tuesday, October 22.

Sharon Ervin will begin faxing information regarding upcoming
events to the media.

The November 12th meeting is a DHR approved training session
by Maria Abercrombie on "Morals and Ethics in the Classroom."

The next meeting of the Cobb Collaborative will be Thursday,
October 24th from 7-9 p.m.

The business meeting was adjourned at 9:10 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Tine Warrilow, Recording Secretary
