| The meeting was called to order by Sigrid Ivanovic at 7:00 p.m. The minutes of the August 13th meeting were read and approved. The minutes of the August 27th Board meeting were read. Sheila Adams reported that the website is in operation. Providers are asked for input or suggestions. It was suggested that we make our clients aware of the website. We will try to begin putting CPCCA meeting minutes on the web. There were no recaps of the Tour of Homes nor receipts for reinbursement. Sigrid announced that Christine Ellsworth has been appointed treasurer for the remainder of this term and has been nominated for that position for 2003. The slate of candidates for offices and for committee chairpersons was presented. As we would like to have a "co" for each position, all members were urged to consider volunteering for one of the offices or committees. There were no requests for specific training programs in 2003. Stephanie Smith volunteered to work with Sigrid to co-ordinate programs in 2003. The Special Events Committee now consists of Sigrid Ivanovic, Christine Ellsworth, Sharon Ervin, Willie Mae Ross-Burton, and Tine Warrilow. The first special event will be the Christmas party for Cobb County foster children on our regularly scheduled meeting date of Tuesday, December 10. Sigrid announced that Santa Claus has been booked. The charge is $75.00. Other special events will include Stand for Children (June 1), Provider Appreciation Day, Tour of Homes, as well as additional events. The next board meeting will be Tuesday, September 24 at 7:00 p.m. The next Association meeting will be Tuesday, October 8 at 7:00 p.m. As October is Fire Safety month, we will have Officer Dennis Rucker from the Marietta Fire Department to speak to us. There also will be Richard Castelani, a representative from Association Field Service, U.T.A. Division of MegaLife and Health Insurance Company, to discuss health and liability insurance. This program is not D.H.R. approved. The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m. Maria Abercrombie of Chattahoochee Tech presented a 2 hour D.H.R. approved workshop on effective discipline strategies for "When Time Out Doesn't Work". Respectfully subbmitted, Tine Warrilow, Recording Secretary |
