| The General Board Meeting was called to order at 7:15pm at Ryan's Steakhouse by President Sharon Ervin. Erin Driscoll informed all present that the Christmas Party scheduled for the following Tuesday evening had been cancelled due to a conflict. It will be posted on the website to all members. There was discussion about the 2005 training calendar and the proposal for having three months of classes followed by a break with either a social or no meeting at all on the fourth month and then three months of classes etc. The budget was discussed and it was motioned that we do away with the message center and its expense effective January 1, 2005. All were in favor of that motion. The idea of a quarterly newsletter was discussed and will be decided upon at a later date. Marketing ideas, especially of the website, were brought up, such as advertising in local newspapers, billboards, and newsletters distributed to all registered Cobb County child care providers. Grants that could possibly benefit the association were also a topic of interest among those present. Increasing membership was a goal discussed. Showing members what their $50.00 will get them was one of the ideas pointed out. Networking, incentives, door prizes and grants were also mentioned as ways to get members more involved and increase membership. It was pointed out that the sign in sheets were in need of being updated, especially in the area of phone numbers. Laurie Sheehan Recording Secretary |
